Spring wedding ceremony flowers at Tyn Dwr Hall, NORTH WALES

Tyn Dwr Hall wedding venue in North Wales

Tyn Dwr Hall is a glorious wedding venue nestled in the dramatic and gorgeous scenery of North Wales. I was very excited by the opportunity to flower the mantelpiece for the Bouquet & Bells wedding Fayre in early Spring. It was a chance to create flowers for a wedding ceremony and make the perfect floral backdrop. Our models wore stunning bridal dresses and bridesmaid dresses provided by gorgeous Chester bridal boutique My Funny Valentine.

Tyn Dwr Hall is in North Wales, conveniently located close to Chester and Liverpool and easy to find.  The gorgeous hall creates a breathtakingly beautiful country setting, yet really accessible so a perfect location  A sweeping driveway leads up to the understated brick building and beautiful grounds. Clumps of snowdrops herald the coming exuberance of Spring as the warmth of the sun welcomes a beautiful morning. There is a feeling of centuries-old protection from the Welsh hills in this special place.

ROMANTIC WEDDING CEREMONY SPACE

Tyn Dwr Hall is the perfect balance between traditional and modern. The ceremony room is a light, bright room with a stunning feature mantlepiece. This mantlepiece holds a very special message of love and devotion. An inscription in gold lettering reads “Mi gerddaf gyda thi dros lwybrau maith”.

Romantic floral wedding ceremony mantelpiece florals in soft pink with abundant roses

This is taken from the words of a famous and evocative Welsh poem, by an unknown poet.

Magpie Cat created a beautiful translation and kindly gave open permission for its use with their blessing.

I will walk with you though the road be long,

And set forth with a flower, a dream, a song.

I take your hand, look in your eyes and know

I will walk with you anywhere you go.

I will walk with you when the full moon's light

Is like a lantern in the coldest night.

I promise you my heart, entire and all,

I will walk with you as the shadows fall.

I will walk with you all the years ahead,

On sunlit hills and when the sun has fled.

And when our call is heard, its hour unguessed,

I will walk with you through the lands of rest.

I carry this in my heart as a promise to travel the long paths with my partner until the end of the road. It is a poignant reminder of our “in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer” vow. Some paths may be full of love and joy, some with more troubles and sorrows. There may be many steps down paths that turn out not to be towards the destination we aim for, but each brings its own teachings and warm memories. I’ve heard this being used for a beautiful wedding reading.

Given the importance and beauty of this elegant stone mantelpiece with its heartwarming inscription, I was very keen to enhance rather than overwhelm.

CREATING ROMANTIC PINK SPRING FLORALS FOR A CEREMONY

Late Winter calls for soft, subtle colours. The bright enthusiastic riot of Spring colours is not yet here and I wanted the flowers to draw together both the understated elegance of the ceremony room and celebrate the gentle beauty of the first flowers of the year.

Elegant roses of Quicksand for her luxurious, rich delicate pink, Sand for the softest beige tone and white O’Hara roses for her beautiful scent and perfect blush white. Climbing spray roses created a delicate reach toward the highest lines of the mantlepiece.

Texture came from Broom, Gypsophila and the first catkins. Dancing butterfly ranunculus and pale pink tulips added pretty points of interest and brought through the flowers of the season.

Woodland flowers, spring flowers and soft colours

The floor of the mantlepiece was decorated as a natural woodland floor with moss and the first nodding heads of Leucojum grown in Cornwall - thank you to the ever-helpful Flowers by Clowance. Leucojums are also know as Snowflakes. They are similar to snowdrops but just a little taller for the impact needed in such a grand setting. Real candles on wood added a twinkle of magic and finally a romantic scattering of rose petals. As the morning sun rose, the light shone through the windows creating the soft, peaceful look I was hoping for.

Beautiful bridal dresses and bridesmaid dresses in spring pastels

Our models looked absolutely stunning with perfect hair by Laura Jane Bridal Hair and make-up by Caroline Camber - elegance created with a friendly relaxed atmosphere, making everyone feel at ease. How gorgeous are those dresses? Romantic and elegant for your wedding day and the prettiest colours for bridesmaids - simply exquisite.

BETTER THAN CAKE MEADOWS (ALTHOUGH I LOVE THOSE TOO)

The final piece of magic came from one of The Red Rose Cake Co epic cakes. Simply stunning in all white with subtle texture and banding, she looked so at home surrounded by flowers.

FLOWERS FOR STYLED SHOOTS

Thank you to Sarah Brooke Photography for creating an epic styled shoot out of thin air. She literally created in minutes what I would have imagined to take many hours. Highly, highly recommended if  you haven’t yet found your photographer for your special day. Thank you to stunning Tyn Dwr Hall for the opportunity to decorate the mantelpiece I have obsessed over since first seeing her. Thank you to Ivory Hill flowers for the loveliest pink Quicksand Roses, and to Flowers by Clowance for the pretty Leucojums. Thank you Bouquet and Bells for the invitation and kind support along my flowery journey.

Please get in touch if you would like to talk about flowers for a wedding or photoshoot.

Love,
